The 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics announced for black hole discoveries
The 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics was announced on 06th October for three black hole researchers: Roger Penrose was recognized for his work showing that black hole formation is a robust prediction of General Relativity, receiving half of the total prize. The other half is to be given jointly to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez for their discovery of a supermassive compact object at the centre of our galaxy, the Milky Way. (October/2020)
