First ever black hole image has been unveiled!

The international collaboration Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) announced the first real black hole image in the history of humankind. The image reveals the shadow of a black hole in the center of the Messier 87 (M87) galaxy. The black hole mass is approximately 6.5 billion solar masses and it is located around 55 million light-years from Earth. The results are available in a series of six papers published in a special issue of The Astrophysical Journal Letters. (April/2019)"
